The cutest town in Europe? Český Krumlov!

Ever wondered what the cutest town in Europe was? Look no further, I have committed to the laborious task, completed the hard yards and found the answer for you- Český Krumlov, in the Czech Republic.

As I mentioned in my post on Prague, ever since my parents visited this quaint, yet extremely-picturesque town, I had to make my own way there to see the fairy-tale town with my own water-filled eyeballs! Let’s just say, as I was scoffing down my 37th ice-cream of my trip, walking around the pastel coloured buildings, I was not disappointed. The place is a real life postcard, and I for one enjoy anything that resembles a Disney movie.

How to get here-

My brother and I caught a 2.5 hour bus from Prague. There are a few different companies running buses- so take your pick. Get there a bit earlier because the Prague bus/train station is a giant, scary nightmare if you don’t know where you are going (and if you’re a tourist you probably don’t know where you are going).

Once you’re on the bus, it’s a very pleasant ride with free wifi and if you’re lucky, a free water bottle. Also, if you purchased a return ticket you have to select a time you want to return, so make sure you don’t get carried away with the beauty and forget about your return time.

What to do-

  • Free walking tour
  • The Castle Garden
  • Canoe on the Vltava River
  • Český Krumlov Castle

How long do I need here?

My brother and I only came for the day, and that was enough to see everything we wanted to (twice actually as we went on the walking tour), eat lunch, eat ice-cream and eat a Trdelník…

But if you are wanting a more relaxed visit and would like to canoe across the Vltava River and go inside the castle, I would suggest an overnight stay in this beautiful town.
